Settings NPC
Ragnarok is a game of many character options, but strangely few options options. Enter: The Settings NPC, a vigilant butler with nowhere to be, and yet, he seems to be just about everywhere. Able to be found near any on-duty Kafra Employee, he is ready and waiting to change any of our unique server settings.
Message ConfigGlobal drop announcements are active on our server, so every item with a chance to drop that is 0.05% or less will shout to the entire server with your name that this item dropped and that you were the one to drop it.
While there is no way to omit yourself from announcing your drops to everyone, the Settings NPC is able to remove your own ability to see these types of announcements, allowing you to avoid getting spammed with messages that you may not care to see.
This option can also be used to disable the ability to see Pet chat. Although it should be noted that for the time being, Pet chat is globally disabled.
CommandsWe have a number of @commands that are available to players, but many of them have a default setting of "off", forcing you to re-enable them each time you re-open the game.
This option allows you to change the default setting for various commands such as @kc, @noask, @showexp, or @rotd, circumventing the need for having to enable your favorite options each and every time you play.
ChannelsAs a smaller server, we strive to keep players connected. So, to assist in this, the various chat channels such as #Map, #Main, #Trade, #Party, and any of the language channels, are automatically entered upon login.
This option allows you to not only choose which of these channels you want to enter each time, but also gives you the ability to change the color coding of each chat channel--including normal ones like Guild and Party. Don't settle for Green is for Guild if you think Purple is for Guild. You are the master of your own fate here. Who are we to tell you what color a party should be!?
Drop LightsA more common setting these days, drop lights are pillars of colored light used to represent a rare drop. These make it absolutely unmistakable both in a visual sense and an audio sense that a rare or desirable item has just fallen out of the monster you have been farming for sixteen hours straight now. Or, perhaps, it is there to alert you to the harrowing reality of accidentally clicking a Boa, only to see its legendary 0.01% Shining Scale flop out on the floor before you, drinking up every bit of luck you might have had.
Not only does the Settings NPC allow you to adjust the thresholds at which these lights and sounds occur--or whether they happen at all--but you can also even assign a color for your lights. It is even possible to set up a different colored light for different categories of rare items, allowing you to really customize your relationship with the rares that you seek on your journies.
AFK HeadgearIdle rules have always existed in Ragnarok, but usually there is no clear indicator that a character has been inactive for long enough to become idle. We have decided to, by default, implement a cute little headgear that clearly telegraphs to everyone around you that you are currently AFK. Because this is a lower headgear, however, it does temporarily remove the appearance of your actual lower headger, making it undesirable for some. Also some people just don't like the bubble, period.
Fortunately for you, this setting is able to be toggled on and off. While this will not prevent you from becoming idle, it will disable the appearance of the headgear, allowing you to go to bed looking exactly as awesome as you want the world to see!
