As you are aware, Episode 10.2 - Lighthalzen will be introduced in just under two weeks on the 1st of August. We're very excited about this chapter and hope you are, too!
Together with this update, we plan to introduce a few changes (or rather to reverse/adjust changes that we've made that our community did not like) that we've been talking about on our Discord. For those of you who haven't been following, we've been asking you to list which changes that we made you thought were good and which ones were bad. We had a staff meeting yesterday afternoon and discussed your entries, particularly the 'bad changes list', and would now like to communicate back to you about it.
There will be two phases in order to see this come to fruition. Phase 1 goes live with the 10.2 patch on the 1st of August and will introduce the first wave of adjustments. Phase 2 will deal with the 'bad changes' that require more input from the community and some more time to make sure we get it right. This will happen entirely on Discord, so if you want to be a part of it, make sure you join! This news post serves as an overview and a notice for those who may not be on our Discord or do not check it regularly.
Phase 1 adjustments
Mentioned below are the adjustments we plan to introduce on the 1st of August with the 10.2 - Lighthalzen patch:
- Add Marionette Doll as a drop to Marionette.
- Make it so Ice Pick can again be used by the Swordman Class.
- Remove boss protocol from Ancient Worms in Al De Baran Guild Dungeon.
- Lower the level of Combo Attack used by Dimiks in Juperos Dungeon, making the already dangerous dungeon a bit less so.
- Plants summoned via Bio Cannibalise by Alchemists are made to be passive by default instead of aggressive, requiring the Alchemist to either attack a monster or use the War Pollen for their plant-pets to engage. This is to prevent unintentional kill stealing if the Alchemist has not yet obtained said Pollen to properly control their plant-pets.
- Raise RSX-0806's experience in accordance with the changes made to the experience of other MVPs.
- Double the duration of Soul Links.
- Add a grace period to Inflation similar to that of Raid, meaning that for 5 minutes after logging a merchant class character and suing Inflation, it will not raise the affected monster's experience but will still tap them - visual and auditory indicators to mark the point where both Inflation and Raid work properly included.
- Not nerf Earth Deleter Card as originally intended (meaning for it to only work with physical auto attacks) and leave it as it was.
- Remove the Bowling Bash (Demi-)Gutterlines, meaning there will no longer be randomised knockback.
- Not double the HP of most upcoming MVPs such as those in Biolabs 3.
- Reverse the 'free camera' inside of buildings in towns. This was changed to allow for people to properly view their characters when changing appearance inside the Beauty Parlour. The NPCs dealing with hair and clothing changes will instead be relocated.
- Add an option to toggle the AFK Sprite.
- Updating the website, particularly the Custom Changes pages
- Note: I (Leaf) am aware that the website hasn't been updated properly lately and I do apologise. This is something that falls solely on me and I will do my best to get things back into shape ASAP, real life permitting.
Phase 2 potential adjustments
Mentioned below are the points that were pointed out as 'bad' by the community but require further input, explanation, and discussion before potential adjustments can be made.
- Changes made to Berserk
- Taekwon Stances drain SP when spammed
- Gambling (Comodo Diamond Exchange)
- Changes made to the Pet System
- Quagmire on Sages
- Changes made to Soul Drain (High Wizard skill)
- Changes made to Maya Purple Card
- Changes made to Meteor Assault (Assassin Cross skill)
- Gloria no longer requiring Kyrie Eleison as a prerequisite
- Trans/Rebirth Class War of Emperium
- Implementation of Anubis monster
- Rework of Taekwon Master/Star Gladiator/Soul Linker (Knight Soul Link specifically was mentioned also)
- Changes made to Raid
- Status armour effect cards using Renewal effects/chances
- Soloplay Box1/2 giving access to Scribble (Graffiti) level 1
- Note: As far as we know, this is a description error and requires fixing.
- Limit on attack speed related skill spamming and limit on skill dancing
- Curved Sword [1] being equipable by non-trans classes
- Note: Again, according to our information, this is the default setting, and the trans-only limitation was introduced with Renewal.
- Beast Strafing as a Platinum Quest Skill
- Ability to set Guild Tax to 99%
- Devaluation of Mobster Card
What will remain the same
Finally, below are the things mentioned that we strongly believe are positive changes or are otherwise not adjustable:
- Changes made to Twilight Alchemy
- Ravenous Spirit no longer working for ranged classes
- Changes made to Devilring Card
- Ghouls having the ability to turn you Undead
- The reworked Slot Enchant system
- Comodo Diamond Gambling - Coronet/Pointed Shoes rates
- Changes made to Venatu's item drops
- Unavailability of proper headgears in the Goat Shop
- Hidden headgear quests being too obtuse/not giving enough hints
- Changes made to Fury/Critical Explosion
- LUK rework
- Changes made to Basilica
- MVP changes, particularly the recent skill changes such as the Warp Portal debuff
- Changes made to Creator class, particularly Acid Demonstration
- Disabled cards (they will all become enabled soon!)
- Changes made to Enchant Deadly Poison
- Skills such as Assumptio and Soul Link disappearing on logout of the caster
- Mini Boss cards being excluded from Old Card Albums
- Ankle Snare triggering rude teleport in MVPs
- Creators/Whitesmiths still being able to brew/forge on their Shadow Characters
- MVPs being able to break Icewalls by summoning slaves
- Spear Quicken working with 1-handed spears
- 'Easy' access to Elemental Armours
- Crusader Soul Link increasing Spear Quicken ASPD
- Release of certain items 'ahead of time'
- Release of Andre Larva card
- Chemical Protection being dispelled if the affected piece of equipment is taken off
